Coaching for leaders is like coaching for elite athletes. Athletes know that to reach the top of their game they need to push themselves, challenging their know boundaries in order to improve performance. Being a leader, being responsible for others, is really no different because it is something to learn, to improve, to enhance – and, we can become smarter, more thoughtful, sharper leaders when we engage with executive coaching.
There are six basic functions of management that every effective leader would benefit from mastering: Planning, visioning, staffing, organizing, communicating and governing. Of all these basic functions, the one that ties them all together and that could make or break a leader is - communication. Effective communication in leadership means more than passing messages across. It is about motivating, connecting with and inspiring people for better outcomes.
