A short (in stature only!) Scottish woman who has a passion for helping individuals and teams in organisations be better leaders. I firmly believe that by changing the consciousness of business you can positively impact the world. Whilst also being highly successful commercially.

How do I describe what I do? Text Open

I’m a highly experienced coach, trainer and speaker and the principal consultant of Wilson Associates Limited, the leadership development consultancy I founded in 1989. I have worked with many FTSE 100 companies and have both designed and delivered bespoke leadership development programmes and facilitated hours of coaching in the thousands. I’m also the author of numerous articles and my highly acclaimed book “The Little Black Book of Career Success”.

I’m also highly committed to pro bono work and since 2004, have co-delivered the selection and training business coaches for the educational charity Teach First and coached with The Warrior Programme, an educational charity dedicated to helping veterans.

Typically, I help emerging talent and senior management and partners in large international organisations, delivering leadership programmes or coaching across a broad range of leadership disciplines that create and foster performance improvement in a sustainable way.

How did I develop my skills and expertise? Text Open

It’s a combination of training, qualifications and experience of working with groups and individuals. At the heart of it all is my self development and my strong commitment to learning and development on a continuing and evolving basis - including courses such as executive coaching, neuroscience, global business and psychology. As well as having my own coach and being in a supervision group, my professional qualifications include:

  • ICF accredited coach – trained with International Teaching Seminars
  • NLP Trainer (licensed in 1999) NLP Master Practioner and Practioner.
  • Member of The Chartered Institute Personnel and Development.
  • Member of The Professional Speakers Association.
  • Graduate of The Interfaith Foundation - two year training in global diversity, conflict resolution and deeper purpose & meaning.

What do I love about my work? Text Open

It’s hugely rewarding seeing people change and develop for the better. It is also very varied and gives me time to have fun, stay fit and hang out with family & friends.

The other thing I hear a lot is “its great having you around – you really make us laugh”.

What is an unknown or interesting fact about me? Text Open

The first job I had was driving a truck in the East end of Glasgow in the 1970’s. It taught me a huge amount about people, not to mention some extraordinary swear words!
