Who am I? Text Open

A trusted advisor to senior leaders and their Boards, I have almost 20 years’ experience of working with leaders in a wide array of well known organisations that are looking to align their people agenda with their organisation’s strategic vision.

I am a Danish national but have spent the last 18 years in the UK and the Middle East. I still conduct significant work in Scandinavia and my cross-border client portfolio has enabled me to benchmark leadership types and best-practice cross-culturally.

Responding to client demand, I established my own consulting business – Karin Sode International, in early 2013. I previously spent seven years at a well known leadership consultancy where I led the firm’s operations in Scandinavia, consulting to a wide range of multinationals in Northern Europe. In this role I was also Regional Head of Coaching. In my earlier career, I ran a consulting arm from Edinburgh University.

What do I love about my work? Text Open

I love gaining an understanding of organisations and supporting leaders in identifying a way forward, navigating a complex world. I am particularly interested in supporting leaders finding solutions that take an integrated view of all their stakeholders – investors and shareholders as well as customers, the community, the environment etc. I also thrive on seeing individuals grow, personally and professionally. In my work with leadership teams and boards, I enjoy supporting them to become better at dealing with the complexity facing them in a rapidly changing environment and increasing their effectiveness as a collective.

What has made me a rock star for my clients? Text Open

Working with Chief Executives, Boards and organisations’ top management teams, clients frequently comment on my ability to build deep connections that enable individuals to feel safe but challenged. As a result, I have been able to help clients unlock insights and release their latent potential, helping them to succeed in their careers and more broadly. I am also known for my ability to challenge leadership teams not just to accept the status quo but to think carefully about how to take their organisation forward.

What is an unknown or interesting fact about me? Text Open

I write poetry, although not for public consumption (yet…).
